Which planter is the right one for indoors?

There is no one right planter. Besides personal taste, the intended use also plays a role. In particular, do you want a stylish decorative element or should the planter be a room divider indoors?

In terms of material, you have plenty to choose from when it comes to indoor planters. Unlike outdoor planters, indoor planters do not need to be weatherproof and frost-free. Diversity of shapes and colours

Whoever has the choice is spoilt for choice. This also applies to planters. There are so many different shapes and sizes - from the small, round planter to the conical floor vase to the tall, rectangular planter box - that meet the needs of both the occupant of a small apartment and the requirements of the operator of a hotel.

Also in terms of colours, hardly any wishes remain unfulfilled. You have the choice between subtle and eye-catching shades. The warm brown of teak radiates cosiness. Cement-look planters are available in trendy grey or anthracite. Indoor planters in black look elegant. Extravagant indoor planters in silver or gold are stylish eye-catchers. A radiant white actually always suits. And plants look particularly good in containers made of shiny silver-coloured stainless steel.

Particularly practical are table pots, which are often offered in the neutral colour white. The complete set with plant insert, plant substrate and water level indicator is ideally suited for reception counters or for decorating tables in the catering trade. Wherever there is not much time for plant care, this uncomplicated planter will be appreciated.

Design with planters

You can use a planter to decorate indoors or even structure rooms. This applies to the private home as well as to offices and other commercially used spaces.

Small, round or oblong planters or small, spherical planters cut a good figure on a sideboard, for example. A flower decoration on a dining table can also be arranged well in a planter. In square or round planters, on the other hand, you can put larger specimen plants in the right light. Palm trees or grasses are shown off to their best advantage. High plant columns, large round planters or large round or square planters look particularly good in the entrance area of offices, restaurants or hotels. The first impression is often decisive. An inviting entrance area with harmonious planters and plants contributes positively to the image.

What to look out for in indoor planters?

Indoor planters, unlike outdoor planters, you don't have to worry about whether the containers are robust and weatherproof. You have free rein with the material and can concentrate fully on shape and colour.

There are still a few things to keep in mind. Make sure that your floor is not ruined by leaking water or scratch marks. Plants do not tolerate waterlogging. This is not a problem outdoors. The planters have a hole in the bottom and the water can drain away unhindered. In the living area, a saucer can help with small containers. However, this does not look particularly decorative.

It is better to line the planter. For this purpose, there are inserts for planters that prevent leakage. The transparent material of these planter inserts is usually soft and flexible and can be bent or trimmed as needed

The containers are thus made spill-proof without much effort. In addition, the plant inserts prevent unsightly limescale deposits on the vessel walls.

Large planted planters are extremely decorative, but also very heavy. Unfortunately, it cannot be prevented that the planter has to be moved to the side from time to time. On the one hand, this requires effort and, on the other, it can cause ugly scratches on the parquet floor. A pedestal with castors provides a simple and effective remedy.

Coasters are available in different sizes and made of different materials. There are even plant tubs on castors that make moving them back and forth child's play.

Wood is a popular material.

Wood is a popular material for planters. Wooden pots have a natural flair and are an absolute highlight in both private and commercial spaces. Unfortunately, the lack of humidity indoors can lead to wood cracking. Particularly in winter, when heating is used, it is important to ensure an appropriate indoor climate. This is especially true if you have underfloor heating. In this case, it is best to provide an additional moisturiser.
