Bouclé comes from the French and initially only describes the way in which the special type of fabric is processed. It stands for "loop" and thus gives the first clues as to how bouclé is used in practice. The handmade fabric is woven with different yarn thicknesses, creating a surface with tiny knots. By using different colours, it is possible to create interesting colour schemes and thus design a unique look.

Durable and high quality design

Whether in clothing or in the production of seating and upholstered furniture, the high quality and durability of individual materials is crucial. Bouclé as a fabric is not only strong in design, but at the same time ensures a long durability of the manufactured pieces. This type of fabric should not be underestimated, especially when covering upholstered furniture.

Sofas and armchairs are exposed to everyday wear and tear. Fine fabric types can easily be affected here, but in terms of sustainability, a solid and robust finish is of high importance. Bouclé is able to meet these criteria and ensure that an elegant two-seater can withstand the stress of children's romping feet and daily wear and tear.

Coco Chanel is the strong woman for the development of Bouclé

Bouclé was hardly known until 1954, but Coco Chanel managed to turn it around. With the publication of her "Little Black Jacket", she managed to make the fluffy bouclé with its sophisticated little knots a trendsetter of modern fabric types. To this day, the fabric is inseparable from the designer and is automatically associated with a touch of luxury.

The fabric gained its great popularity not only because of its strong design, but also because of its diverse processing possibilities. The yarn counts used alone are responsible for the overall look that emerges at the end of production. Thus, jackets, cardigans and other garments can be designed with fine yarns, knots, nubs and loops can be worked in with effect yarns.

The furniture industry has also caught wind of one of the most important trend fabrics of the 20th century. The properties of bouclé make it almost indispensable for the design of modern upholstered furniture. Its surface structure is both comfortable and timeless, and its adaptable design provides considerable scope for design.

Classic and elegant - Bouclé enriches every interior

Clear forms play an important role in furniture design. The time of flourishes is in the past; with clear lines, designers create a statement in any room. Hardly any other fabric fits this new trend as well as Bouclé. It succeeds in a unique way in combining the demands of resilience with an elegant overall impression.
